G is for Goddess
Last spring there was a lovely event in Vancouver called G Day for Girls. It had some great speakers, experiential groups, and artists all geared at helping girls ages 10-12 as they transition into adolescence. Looking at the agenda for the day, I was jealous that there wasn't something like that for me and other adult women. Apparently I wasn't the only one because, Madeleine Shaw and Suzanne Siemens (of my beloved Lunapads), decided to host a similar event for women. G is for Goddess is a modern celebration of the Divine Feminine inspired by G Day.
G is for Goddess Speakers
The central themes will include intuition, Goddess wisdom, and pleasure. I will be honest, I am most excited to hear Taryn Brumfitt, of Body Image Movement, speak. You may have seen her photos and messages of "body loving" online, as they have reached over 100 million people globally. She is from Australia, and not likely to be back in our neck of the woods anytime soon. I haven't been blogging much on the Owning Our Beauty/Positive Body image theme lately, but that doesn't mean my interest in this topic has lessened in any way. I believe Taryn will fuel and inspire me again on the ideas of accepting and loving ourselves as we are. You can find out more about her at www.bodyimagemovement.com.au or follow her on twitter at @TarynBrumfitt.
