My regular followers will notice I have made a few changes to the Fashion Forward 40 layout.  This also now includes a Link page in the top navigation.  I have always been selective on who I link to, as I see it as a personal recommendation. So I have always written about why I follow a blog before I put it in my links.   I have now added a 40+ bloggers with style category, and intend to add more of my favourite style blogs from women over 40 in the coming months. That is a long way of saying I will be resurecting my Follow Fashion Friday #FFF column.

So here is my February 2013 edition of fabulous style bloggers that you should be reading.

Not Dressed as Lamb -  @NotLamb

There is a phrase "mutton dressed as lamb" that refers to ageing women who are dressed or made up as if much younger.  Not Dressed as Lamb is Catherine's tales of modern, fun and young style and is NOT dressed as lamb. Or at least that is my take on her blog.

Catherine is a British 40+ blogger who posts outfits, musings and photo tips.   I love the way she plays with colour and patterns.  Two of my favourite posts are:

  • Inspiration to give a graphic sweater a try... hers has an owl, my new sweater has a cherry.
  • She experimented with photoshopping her own photo... with results that surprised her.

The Style Confessions - @TheStyleConfess

Heather Fonseca is a designer, wife and mother living in Los Angeles.  She posts outfits, tips on wearing trends and other thoughts on fasthion.  The blog features a lot of visuals - either photos of her modelling outfits taken by her husband or her illustrations. Two of my favourite posts:

Suzanne Carillo Style Files - @SuzanneCarillo

Fellow Canadian Suzanne is another 40+ style blogger. She has a broad style blog including outfit posts, crafts, diy, mens style and a bit on organization.  Two of my favourites include:

  • Love, Love, Love how she wears this jean jacket with a belt over a dress in this post about jean jackets as a wardrobe basic.  Expect to see my own version soon.
  • Great idea on using an over the door shoe hanger for jewelry.  Yes - I have already pinned this for future reference.

Also be sure to check out all the great ladies who link up to Patti's Not Dead Yet Style for Visible Monday.  I always find great new blogs there.
