WOW!  This is such a busy award show with both TV and Movie personalities.  So many great looking 40 and over, as well as some very cute couples and some red hot eye candy.  Below you find my top and bottom picks with the rest of my picks in a 2013 Golden Globes Pinterest Board.  The trends tonight included jewel tones, shimmer, nude/pink, lace, unique details, sheer. black and white and more patterns than I remember from the past.

My Favourites

You will notice a couple of my regular favourites not included here tonight - Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergras, Nancy O'Dell and  Helen Mirren.  None of them were disappointments, but I just didn't LOVE any of their dresses this year. Although I have to say I really wanted to love Helen's dress as it showed off her fab figure.  But I just couldn't like the detail on the dress.

Naomi Watts is on a streak this Award season - at least on the red carpet. She was my favourite tonight in this dramatic oxblood Zac Posen gown, with a very sexy cutout back.

Love, Love, Love this black and white Tom Ford gown on Julianne Moore.

Carla Gugino shines from both the front and back in a metallic Rami Al Ali design.

Jennifer Garner wore a beautiful dark red strapless gown.  The colour was what caught my attention with this dress, but the fit and waist detail showed off  Jen's athletic figure.

Julianne Margulies was stunning in this deep purple lace Emilio Pucci gown.

Tina Fey looks like she stepped out of a vintage Vogue magazine in this tea length L'Wren Scott dress.

Amy Poehler showed that tuxedos can be very sexy in this Stella McCartney suit.

Halle Berry looked romantic in this one shouldered printed Versace dress, with super sexy slit.

Salma Hayek is a bombshell in this shimmering black Gucci Premiere gown that played perfectly to her proportions.

Helen Hunt looked lovely in this pale pink shimmering gown.

#11 - The Bonus Favourite - Jodie Foster - For being the bold fearless role model she has always been.  And for rocking this bold blue.

The Disappointments

There were several ladies tonight, that did not shine on the red carpet.  These are the beautiful women that made a simple styling error and let their dress wear them.  And no I did not include Helen Bonham Carter (even though her lip purse could have been cause).  But she wore something that was exactly her style and she owned it. I can't fault her for that.

Alyssa Milano - please don't tell my husband I put her on this list.   But I really felt this colour was wrong for her.  I could not get past the colour to see the beautiful woman wearing it.

Rachel Weisz - I really did not understand this choice. And while I am a bit nervous criticizing the wife of James Bond, I have to say this is my biggest disappointment tonight. Thankfully her fabulous smile pulled my attention up to her face.

Emily Mortimer - This silver high necked, long sleeved dress just does not work on Emily. It brings attention to her middle, which I know very few women over 40 want to be a focal point.

The Hot Couples

This was the hardest to pick this year. So many great looking couples.  I love it when a couple complement each other so that it is hard to tell which is the "star" and which is the spouse - they become a star couple.  And this year there were a lot of them.

Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt

Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollen

Denzel Washington and his Daughter Olivia

Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness

Jason Batemen and Amanda Anka

There were so many other cute couples - Damian Lewis & Helen McCrory, Jon Bon Jovi & Derothea Hurley, Kate Capshaw & Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis & Rebecca Miller.  I could have probably done a couples only edition.

Eye Candy

This was a tough one... Hugh, Daniel Day-Lewis, Jon, Daniel Craig, Damian Lewis, Jon Bon Jovi and Ben Affleck.  But I decided on Danny Huston.   In the end it was the infectious smile, with the uplifted eyebrow, that won me over.

So which of my choices do you agree/disagree with?  Who was your favourite?
