I recently returned from a trip to Toronto for Blissdom Canada and Digital Day = Four days, 2 flights, 2 conferences, 2 parties (1 of them costume), an excursion to wine country and an afternoon with friends.  This equalled 6 very different outfits and one carry-on.   I knew I had to take my suitcase with me to the Monday conference and I did NOT want to be hauling a big suitcase around all day with me.   I also knew I might need some space for swag to bring home.  So really I wanted a half full carry-on for the trip to TO.   I knew I could do this... I mean I have a friend who can travel to Hawaii with a carry-on that she shares with her husband, and her son (she wins the light packer Oscar).

As a shoe whore I started there - my Fly London wedges which are very comfortable, cute with a small wedge heel to make my legs feel longer in my skinny jeans.   Then a colour scheme of black, white and red scheme (then I threw in some teal for fun).  I decided on two toppers that had to be worn twice.  And I wanted enough t-shirts in case my new 7-day natural deodorant didn't hold and a shirt had to be taken out of rotation.

Blissdom  Canada is known for his Karaoke and Costume party.  So that added some extra difficulty. So I based my costume  on something that could pack small.  My red Kiyonna dress with red tights fit the bill perfectly.

Then I debated whether I should take a 2nd pair of dressier shoes for the party and to wear to the Digital Marketing conference on the Monday.  I decided that bringing a pair of Fluevogs is always the right decision. So I packed them (I did say I was a shoe whore right?)

Now it could be argued that I could probably get a whole week's worth of outfits out of these items.  And if it wasn't for my new deodorant I would probably have eliminated 2 of the t-shirts.

  1. Skinny Jeans -  Levi's - worn all 4 days
  2. Red Cardigan - Peter Nygard - worn 2 days
  3. Leopard cardigan - Ann Taylor - worn twice
  4. teal tunic - Nicole Bridger - worn once
  5. black/white striped t-shirt - Joe Fresh - worn twice
  6. black pin-up girl t-shirt  - never worn
  7. black/white polka dot shirt - Kiyonna - worn once
  8. red dress - Kiyonna- worn once
  9. wedges - Fly London - worn 4 times
  10. black/grey heels - Fluevogs - worn twice
  11. Outer jacket - Jacqueline Conoir black and white belted jacket - worn all 4 days
  12. Accessories... which included my lovely black Danier leather bag, which held all my conference stuff.

And, as my friend Alexis says there is always something you don't wear - for me it was the black pin-up girl t-shirt and a black/white scarf I brought to wear on the Monday.   But I also bought a new top, which I wore instead of the t-shirt on the Sunday.  So here are the boring details of my outfits.

On the plane - jeans, teal tunic, red sweater, striped infinity scarf from Two of a Kind, wedges and turquoise stella and dot ring.

Friday Blissdom Canada party - Black & white Kiyonna top, leapard print sweater and skinny jeans. I forgot to wear any of my jewelry that night.  And I forgot to get a picture.  But there is one over at Fantapper with Merry from Merry with Children.

Saturday Blissdom Canada Conference - Black & white striped t-shirt, red sweater, skinny jeans, layered white necklace from Fine Finds, turquoise stella and dot ring and of course some cute argyle socks.  Thanks to Annemarie from Yoyomama.ca for taking my pic.  This outfit was a variation of what I wore to Breathe Now, but without the cute peep toe wedges.   While I liked it here, I loved the original version better with the red wedges.

Saturday night Blissdom Karaoke & Costume party - I was one of five Vancouver Crayons, along with Sue from Raspberry Kids, Connie from Modern Mama, Jill from Urban Mommies and Annemarie from Yoyomama.ca.  I wore red Kiyonna dress, red tights and Fluevogs.  No accessories required when you are wearing a huge cone on your head.  Also thanks to Tanis from Red Neck Mommy who we ambushed in the hallway to take this picture.

I also love this picture of me taken in a mirror. And yes, that is a Christmas tree giving the peace sign behind my head.  You can also see the Danier bag on the floor.

Sunday Blissdom Canada Excursions - By Sunday it was my 2nd day in a row getting up at 3am Pacific time.  And my bus left for our wine excursion to Niagara at 8am from the hotel.  Atter the party the night before it was a very quiet bus - going.  I won't speak about the return trip as I'm working on a separate post on the excursion.  But it is sufficient to say we had FUN and were well taken care of by Winecountry Ontario.   Outfit included my new Edit by Jeanne Beker striped shirt (bought after a "quick" trip into the Bay Downtown to check out Bay Days), jeans, red sweater, striped infinity scarf from Two of Hearts, turquoise ring from Stella and Dot, pink sunglasses from Blogher and wedges.

Digital Day  Monday Conference - No picture from this day, but wore my skinny jeans, black/white striped t-shirt, leopard print sweater, layered white necklace from Fine Finds, turquoise Stella and Dot ring and my Fluevogs (which I switched to my wedges for the flight home).  I will admit I was a bit nervous wearing jeans to a marketing conference in TO.  And the first few other women I saw were all in suits or skirts, which made me nervous. But then the rest of the crowd arrived and I looked perfectly appropriate.   I went from the conference to quick drinks with my first 2 bosses in advertising at the Royal York, to the airport.  It was a busy, but very productive day.

And yes, I have a lot more to say about both the conferences other than what I wore.  But the outfits were the easiest place to start. And I was very happy with my little capsule wardrobe.  It served me well, didn't wrinkle and I could have juggled the pieces for several more days of outfits if necessary.

Since I felt pretty darn great in all my outifts, I am linking this post up to Visible Monday over at Not Dead Yet Style.
