Over the summer most of the networking events take a break, and then come back in a flurry in the fall.  And because so many people are dealing with back-to-school, back-to-work and general back to rain in early September, everyone plans those events for late September. And the third week in September in particular. I had day last week where I had 3 events, plus work.  My day started at 7am with a Business in Vancouver breakfast, then some time with a client at their office, then Women in Leadership Foundation's Sweet Talk event and finally a tweet up with the fabulous @anndouglas of #motherofall.

So what to wear?  Like any woman with common sense I started with my shoes. Comfortable yet cute = Fluevogs.   Next was some colour near my face.  I knew I'd be seeing stylist Tracy Richardson at Sweet Talk and she talks about the need for colour = red anthropologie top and red Aveda lipstick.  Then I had to add a bit of fun = animal print cardigan.  Finally I had a Jacqueline Conoir skirt that I purchased at their summer blow out sale that I had not yet worn. I added some red accessories and I was done.

What I didn't drag with me all day was my Canon camera. So I used my HTC Flyer tablet, which doesn't have a flash. So I used some the Flyer's cool effects to jazz up my slightly out of focus picture.

The other thing I didn't bring along, because I forgot it, was an umbrella.  Thus the extra frizz curl in my hair.

I also need to show how my girlfriend Jan accessorized her dark sheath dress with funky tights and a great pair of boots.  No special effects here, just a bit of auto enhance.

I would have loved to have taken a picture of Alexis Hinde at the #motherofall tweet-up, as she worn her new cape and boots from our San Diego trip. But it was in the romantically lit Opus lounge, and I didn't have a flash.  You'll have to take my word for it - she looked FAB!
