Last Friday I experimented with some bright colour blocking to work.  I realized after I was at work that none the items I wore were over $50.  Who says it has to cost a lot to look great?!?

I wore this outfit because I wanted to see how my new mustard cardigan would work with bright pink (I like it). And I wanted to wear my new cork 70s wedges by Jeffrey Campbell that I bought in Portland on our way back from Blogher in San Diego (Imelda's is a great shoe store on Hawthorne and I could have gotten lost for days amongst their Fly London, Frye, Bivel and Tsubo shoes - thankfully Nicole kept me centered).

  • Mustard Cardigan - NEW - Banana Republic Outlets in Carlsbad California - $30
  • Skirt - Jacqueline Conoir - This was the 3rd skirt in a buy 2 get one free.  The other skirts cost $130, so I guess if you split it 3 ways this skirt cost me $43.
  • Tank top - Joe Fresh - Not completely sure of cost but likely $12-15
  • Shoes - NEW - Imelda's on Hawthorne in Portland- $50 on sale (AMAZING shoe store
  • Bracelet - NEW - Ann Taylor Factory Outlet - $17
  • Necklace - Clutch - $50
  • Sunglasses - Target - $20

Total outfit cost = $225

Two questions for my readers today - does the extreme colour mixing work? And should I show more frugal friday outfits in the future?
