Archive for November, 2011

It is hard to avoid the fact that the holidays are fast approaching.  My inbox is overflowing with events with clients, for my husband's work, or get togethers with friends and family.    My first official holiday party is tonight.   So now comes the question of what to wear to all these different events?  I don't buy […]

I wasn't going to post an the AMAs, mostly because I don't watch them. And also because the music game tends to be young and/or male.  But after seeing all the Jennifer Lopez photos I had to post my 2 cents. Lets start with the hot looking ladies 40 and over. LOVE Jenny McCarthy looked […]

I've been following The Closet Coach as she posts The 5 levels of a Working Mom Outfits.   Today my outfit is from Level 3, which she calls Casual Friday or "everyday" working uniform for those of us in more laid-back work situations. On this day the weather report was sketchy and I had errands to […]

Last week I was invited to speak at the monthly Vancouver Blogger Meetup along with 3 other local fashion bloggers. I was honoured to be asked by Raul at Hummingbird604 to participate in the panel.  Raul contacted me because he wanted some diversity on the panel and felt my 40+ perspective would be a good addition.  […]

Recently Vancouver designer Jacqueline Conoir unveiled her Spring/Summer 2012 collection at, what I assume was, a fantastic runway show in her new 9,000 square foot showroom (I wasn't able to attend).  But today I'm not interested in thinking ahead to spring. I want to think about fall/winter, and some great dresses.  Rozemerie Cuevas has been […]

On November 5th I got all glammed out and went to the Women in Leadership Foundation Decade of Dreams Gala. The lovely Alexis agreed to be my date and we both styled it up - including almost matching long black gloves. I have a great 60s esque lace dress, that I will admit makes me […]

The Vancouver Circle Craft Christmas Market starts today. I know. I know. Jack-o-lanterns are still sitting on some front yards (I know ours are).  But with the Santa Claus parade right around the corner, we have to accept the fact that it is November.  And that means that the Holiday season has begun.  To top it […]

Back to my theme of locals that I love this fall. Nicole Bridger has been a favorite of mine for some time. She designs socially conscious and versatile clothing. She is usually THE draw for me each season at Eco Fashion Week. But Nicole also hosts a smaller fashion show, with her some of her […]

Yesterday I received the latest Fluevog newsletter, so of course I had to check what new shoes they have.  Once I saw these Portside babies, I was in shoe love.   Maybe Santa will be extra nice to me this year -  in an 8.5 please. Source
