A few weeks ago I posted about the two interesting women that I met at Blogher.  I detailed how it was instant blog love for Poppy Buxom.  Today I'll tell you about the awesomeness that is Blackbird.  Her blog is Say la Vee, Life in an urban town. Three great boys,16,19 and 25, one tall gorgeous husband, and a job in the big city.  It is not exclusively a fashion blog.  She writes a lot of style related posts, but also a great amount about life as well.  She is one very stylish lady.  She is also camera-shy.  No that isn't accurate.  She purposely avoids the camera, but is anything but shy.   So I have no pictures of her personal style.  I guess I could have taken a picture of her with no head, but it didn't seem right.  At the last big Blogher party, Sparklecorn,  she wore lovely cropped black pants and top (think Audrey Hepburn in Funny Girl),  a great black (or grey it was dark and had been drinking) open front swing style sweater.  It all matched her Anna Wintour* bob  and black rimmed glasses perfectly.  Blackbird is a woman who knows herself and her sense of style.   And for someone who is still a beginner in the art of colour, I love that most of her wardrobe is made up of black and grey.

* I hesitate to compare  Blackbird to Anna Wintour because the Vogue Editor comes off hard and cold. And Blackberry is a warm, charismatic woman.  But the comparison is the easiest way to give you a visual of her hair - since she wouldn't let me take a picture of it.

When I got home from Blogher I immediately signed up to follow her blog via email.  And so far she never fails to make me smile, and usually laugh out loud (and I write that in full because she deserves it).  Her posts are sometimes like a stream of consciousness in photos.  Or today it was a Doonesbury cartoon.  For someone who does not take pictures of herself she love photos and is a lovely photographer.  And I love the unique ways she takes pictures of herself without showing her face.  This one is a favourite, showing how she had to layer because it was so cold her Cape Cod vacation (for the record she is wearing  undershirt and pants, black linen dress, black cardigan, chambray shirt, Campers and a German Road closed sign to hide her face).  And scroll to the bottom of this hilarious one to find her in a perfectly silly hat.
